Tom, Katie's older brother, was listening as Katie spelled words out loud. The first word was "Christmas." The second word was "like." Then she started spelling another
longer word.
"That's not a word," Tom said.
Katie insisted that it was.
Katie's mother asked her to repeat what she had spelled.
Katie said, "c-a-l-f-l-i-c-k."
"The first part is a word and the second part is a word," Katie's mother said, "but together the two words don't ay anything."
"Yes sir, Mom," Katie said, "It is what we are -
calflicks."
