Thinning Hair
It depends on the reason for the hair thinning.

Is it over-stressed?
Use a mild shampoo, like baby shampoo or castille soap.  If you color or perm your hair, stop.  Blow drying, and curling irons make hair brittle, and prone to splitting.  Wash hair and let it dry naturally.

Is it genetic?
Not much you can do here.

Is it male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness?
Saw Palmetto berries (used mailnly for mens prostate health) is a DHT blocker, and may be of some help.

Is it from heavy metal toxicity?
One of the best de-tox herbs for mercury is kelp, you can buy it at an oriental grocery as Nori squares, used for wrapping sushi. Crumble some in your soup or salad. Milk thistle is a good liver cleanser and rejuvenator.  Your liver is your body's filter system, and if it is not working optimally, you may have thinning hair, blotchy skin, and a myriad of other disorders. Take 1 or 2 capsules daily.

Is it from diet?
Eat a well balanced diet (preferably vegetarian)   B vitamins are important, especially B5 & biotin  (which in clinical studies has shown to increase the thickness of fingernails by up to 25%...hair is made of the same material)  Take Geletin capsules, or Knox geletin.

Hope this helps
Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.

Dry Shampoo
1/2 cup Cornstarch
Sprinkle the cornstarch in your hair, let it absorb for a few minutes, brush it out. This is great if you are in a pinch.
